In the scope of the browser wars, Mozilla Firefox was always in Google's corner, as the default search engine bundled with Firefox was Google. But thanks to a new deal with Mozilla and Microsoft, Bing/Yahoo is now the new default search engine for Firefox.
Bing is Yahoo - Just so we are all on the same page, Bing and Yahoo have been sharing search results for many years, and are considered to be "one" search engine when considering SEO.
I sincerely doubt it. But there's also no way to predict what the result of this change will be, but I do suspect that now that more people have Bing/Yahoo in front of them by default, that we may see an uptick in Bing/Yahoo traffic volume. This conclusion leads, of course, to the next logical question, "what does this mean for me as a dentist?"
Thankfully the answer to this question is a bit more clear cut -- just pay more attention to Bing/Yahoo. Accordingly, one of the things to consider doing would be to make sure you have a Bing for Business account and that you have your website setup with Bing Webmaster Tools. I don't think that this change is going to rattle the world of search engines and SEO that much. But if there is new or traffic to be had from Bing/Yahoo, I want to make sure that you are in the best position possible to grab it!
